There are days when we feel like 24 hours isn’t enough, we would love to have an extra hour. I have observed that I’ve gotten the most of an hour, almost as much as what I’d get done in 2 hours on a busy day, when I get a good night’s sleep (9:30pm to 5:30am) and then spend an hour in the morning 6a to 7a and doing the most intense work on my backlog. Without the noise, phone notifications, slack pings, ad-hoc meetings, I just seem to do more in that hour than in 2 hours post 7am.
Important to note that this doesn’t usually work as one-off, because you cant just one day go to bed early (at 9:30p) and expect to wake up at 5:30a with energy. It takes time for your body to get used to new schedules. Best to do it regularly.
What is the most productive time of day for you?
